Zinc Oxide 20% & Titanium Oxide 17%: These two sunscreen actives are considered safe and effective by the FDA. Unlike their chemical counterpart that work by absorbing the sun’s harmful rays, these mineral sunscreens protect you by sitting on top of skin and physically blocking harmful rays. It is always recommended to wear SPF 30 or over and reapply every two hours if sweating or swimming when using a mineral formula. For consumers who are concerned about hormonal disruption, specifically for children, we recommend mineral sunscreens. They also do not sting and can actually help soothe skin inflammation. One downside to is that zinc oxide can tend to leave a white cast behind on the skin, but the formulas are getting better and better.
Green Tea’s anti-inflammatory properties can help reduce skin irritation, skin redness, and swelling. Applying green tea to the skin can soothe minor cuts and help prevent sunburns.
Chamomile Extract’s anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant properties relieve skin irritations by increasing healing and neutralizing free radicals.
Vitamin E is stored in sebaceous glands and quickly dissipates quickly if exposed to UV light so daily topical use of Vitamin E reduced skin damage caused by UV radiation. It also makes an excellent moisturizer for dry, patchy areas of the skin such as on elbows, cuticles, knees, etc.

Beware that your clients understand that not all sunscreens that contain zinc oxide are completely mineral based. While some can be a blend of mineral actives (zinc and titanium dioxide), others are actually a mixture of minerals AND chemical actives. Since sunscreens are regulated as over-the-counter drugs in the U.S., the actives in a formula should always be on the product’s packaging. Be sure that they are checking the drug facts before purchasing other products claiming to be “natural” or “mineral-based” if they are trying to avoid chemicals. This easy-to-use powder is ideal for back of the ears, nose, neck especially for golfers and easy reapplication. Sunscreen powders non-greasy option for oilier skin.
